Church on Fire International Celebrates 20 Years of Faith, Impact, and Kingdom Service with “REIGNING ON HIGH.”
CICERO, IL—08/26/2026 – For 20 years, Church on Fire International has been building a fire of faith, prayer, worship, and Kingdom impact from its home in the Chicago area. Now, as the church celebrates two decades of ministry, it is looking toward a new chapter, one with a vision to see that fire reach communities across North and South America. From October 18 to 25, 2026, Church on Fire International will celebrate its 20th anniversary with “REIGNING ON HIGH,” an eight-day celebration bringing together worship, biblical teaching, prayer, prophetic ministry, fellowship, and a renewed focus on the future. Headquartered at 4836 W. 13th Street in Cicero, Illinois, Church on Fire International is a vibrant, culturally diverse, non-denominational Christian church led by Apostle Dr. David S. Philemon and Reverend Mimi Philemon. For the church, reaching 20 years is about more than marking a date on a calendar. It is an opportunity to celebrate God’s faithfulness, honor the people who have contributed to the ministry’s journey, share stories of lives and communities impacted, and look ahead to the next generation.

TWO DECADES OF BUILDING THE FIRE

For two decades, Church on Fire International has been committed to preaching and teaching the Word of God and creating an environment where people can grow in faith, discover purpose, and experience the power of God. The ministry’s work has extended beyond weekly worship services to include prayer, mentorship, missions, church planting, educational initiatives, community outreach, and service to families and individuals in need. Its stated mandate is to “wipe away tears from the faces of mankind” and bring humanity into the fullness of God through the preaching and teaching of God’s undiluted Word and the demonstration of His power. Over the years, the church has continued to develop an international vision while maintaining its roots in the Chicago community. “We are deeply grateful for everything God has done through Church on Fire International over these past 20 years,” said Apostle Dr. David S. Philemon, Founder and General Overseer of Church on Fire International. “But this anniversary is not simply about looking back. We believe the best is still ahead, and we are preparing for a greater expression of God’s purpose and Kingdom impact.”

REIGNING ON HIGH

The theme of the 20th Anniversary Celebration, “REIGNING ON HIGH,” is inspired by Isaiah 40:31: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles…” The theme reflects a message of renewed strength, spiritual elevation, purpose, and preparation for the season ahead. Throughout the eight-day celebration, attendees will experience worship, biblical teaching, prayer, prophetic ministry, fellowship, and special anniversary programming, while hearing from invited ministers and worship leaders. The celebration will also provide an opportunity to recognize the history of the ministry through testimonies, stories, photographs, and reflections from those who have been part of the Church on Fire International journey.

MORE THAN AN ANNIVERSARY

Church on Fire International is approaching its 20th anniversary as both a celebration and a launching point. In preparation for the anniversary, the church is developing a broad media, publicity, and community engagement campaign designed to tell its story beyond the walls of the church. The campaign will include digital storytelling, guest conversations, community outreach, media engagement, social media programming, promotional videos, and partnerships with Christian and community media outlets. The church also plans to use the anniversary to strengthen relationships with communities across the region and engage a broader audience throughout North and South America. Twenty years have built the foundation. The next chapter is about what happens when the fire spreads.

FROM CICERO TO THE AMERICAS

Church on Fire International’s story is deeply connected to the Chicago area, but its vision extends beyond one city. As the ministry enters its third decade, it is looking toward opportunities to expand its Kingdom influence, strengthen relationships across communities and nations, and reach new generations with its message of faith, hope, and purpose. The church believes the next chapter will require greater collaboration, greater visibility, and greater engagement with the communities it serves. The 20th Anniversary Celebration will therefore serve as both a look back at 20 years of God’s faithfulness and a declaration of faith for the years ahead.
